My Happy Little Buddha!

This is my “new” Buddha statue.

I recently inherited him through a dear friend and he is special to me.

Why?

I will tell you.

I love where he came from.

Receiving graciously is something I am practicing.

I am allowing myself to enjoy this simple little statue and the joy it brings me.

I love his round belly.

I’ve worried about my belly being too round for way too many years.

I think I’d rather be happy than worried about my belly.

I love the expression of his hands in the air.

He seems totally present and in the moment. FREE and HAPPY!

No pretense. No hiding.

Over the years I have learned to hide some of who I am.

I am finding it’s more important to show who I am, even if people don’t like it.

Happiness shows in all the lines of his face.

As I get older, I’m not sure about all the wrinkles that are showing up on my face.

Buddha doesn’t care about stuff like that.

I want to care about the stuff that truly matters, not waste energy on stuff I can’t really change.

He is happy.

I am an innately happy person.

Here is a little Buddha quote my friend sent me. I quite like it. I hope you do, too.

“The secret of health for both body and mind is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”

Let’s be more like Buddha and make this world a better place.
