Super Blue Moons

Last night I called my son on my way home to ask him if he’d go on a short drive with me so I could show him something. 

He accepted my invitation and within five minutes met me outside with wet hair, wearing his boxer shorts and a t-shirt.  

He hopped into the car and as we turned the corner, he immediately saw what I wanted to show him. He said, “The moon is so bright and big.” 

We drove away from the city lights to a place where we could park and sit quietly while gazing at the moon.  

I told him that the occurrence is referred to as a blue moon and the next one won't happen until 2037. During this time, it's ideal to release anything holding us back and focus on manifesting new opportunities.  

He said that sounded cool, and I asked him if he'd like to choose a song for the occasion. Of course, he said yes. 

As we listened to "Wildlife" by The Phoenix Foundation, we internally expressed our intentions to the moon, to God, and to the Universe, then snapped some photos with our iPhones. 

On the quiet drive home, I felt a sense of pride in myself for following through with this, rather than just thinking about it. 

Because setting intentions under a Blue Moon with my teenage son was epic.
