Subconscious Saboteurs

I believe our thoughts create our feelings most of the time.

Our feelings produce our actions and inactions.

For example, when I’m feeling frustration I might raise my voice (action)
or walk away and not deal with it at all (inaction).

If you're anything like me, you may have found yourself spending a lot of energy and time trying to “action” your way out of uncomfortable emotions.

We all have subconscious saboteurs that think they are being helpful. Their goal is to help us survive and be safe. They take this job seriously.

My saboteurs often try to convince me that uncomfortable emotions mean that something has gone wrong, and my response has been to try to fix it, or avoid it, instead of sitting with it and feeling it.

When we learn to be present with what we are feeling, we have an opportunity to choose and not just react. This helps us create better lives.

I invite you to take a pause when you’re feeling uncomfortable and ask yourself three questions:

1. What am I feeling?
2. Where do I feel it in my body?
3. What is the problem?

Just take a few minutes to really understand where you are and what's happening instead of just reacting.

See what you find. If you feel like sharing, post below. I'd love to hear what this experience is like for you.

If you want to learn how to apply this knowledge and put it into action, check out my group coaching program below. If groups aren't your thing, I currently have openings for 1:1 coaching.
